Ted Dekker

Ted Dekker is my next author that I will be talking about. Dekker is an adult christian thriller novelist.  He has an amazingly vivid book that enforce Christianity but can be really intense. Some of Dekker's most famous novels are Three, Adam, and Obsessed. Many of his books are longer so it takes a couple of days to read, but you will get so sucked in that it should not take to long.
Dekker's novels are well written and make you think. Generally when I read one of his books I have to keep the light on, I have to have time, and I have to make sure I lock all my doors simply because the stories are so intense. They are so realistic that they are better then any scary movie I have ever watched. He writes books that has so many details that you have no choice but to picture very scene. Even though they are so scary I keep reading his novels because I always learn something, and they have very strong morals at the end. Since he is a christian thriller writer I know that in each book there will be some level of christian values. If I had to recommend one book of Ted Dekker's novels for you to read I would say Three. It was the first book of Dekker's that I read and it got me hooked. The scariest book of Dekker's that I have read is The Boneman's Daughter so I might not start off with that one. Work your way up. My advice to you if you read any of his books would be to be prepared to be scared and read with the light on. HAPPY READING!!!

 Stephanie Perkins

The next author that I am talking about is Stephanie Perkins. Stephanie is another young adult novelist, and I actually found out about her work from my previous author John Green. Stephanie has written two books and is working on her third. I have both of her books, Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door and am highly anticipating her third book Isla and the happily ever after. These books are companion novels and both so far are fabulous. The settings might be different in each novel but they really seem to take on a personality that fits very well with the book.
If I had to choose one of these books that is my favorite I would have to choose Lola and the Boy Next Door since I read it last. Both of these stories are love stories that are actually entertaining and not too cheesy. Actually in Lola and the Boy Next Door two of the main character from Anna and the French Kiss are in the book so it gives some familiarity from the start. If I had to choose a young adult novel that I would want to live in it, would be a Stephanie Perkins novel. She gives her characters so much life, personality, and quirkiness that you just wish that they were your friends. These books are also very easy reads and it should only take around a day to finish. If you need a good love story that will make you feel amazing and loved you should read a Stephanie Perkins novel. HAPPY READING!!!

Monday

John Green
The next author that I will be talking about this time is the amazing John Green. John Green is a young adult writer and my all-time favorite writer; he is also one of my favorite people on the planet.  John has written four different novels: Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, and The Fault in Our Stars. His books are funny, intelligent, sad, and wonderful all at the same time, and sometimes all on the same page. The characters in all his books are relevant and you feel as if they could be your friends. Out of all of his amazing books, it is hard to pick my favorite, but I read The Fault in Our Stars last so it is my current favorite. I have never before laughed or cried so much in one book. TIFIOS as it is known now on the internet is a bittersweet story of a young girl with cancer, her amazing life, and the struggles she goes through. I know most people do not think a book about cancer can be funny but if you took the time to read TIFIOS then you would understand. This book is a masterpiece. It came out in January, debuted on the bestseller list at #1, and has been talked about a lot lately in the media.
Another reason that I love John Green so much is his internet work. He and his brother Hank have a very successful YouTube channel that focuses on the increasing Awesome and decreasing Worldsuck. John puts just as much wit and intelligence that are in his books into his channel. He makes people feel good about themselves and he knows not to talk down to anyone. I have had the immense pleasure to meet and hear John and Hank speak on the TIFIOS book tour in January and it was one of the highlights of my life. His books and work on the internet have made me what I am today, and I absolutely cannot thank him enough for the joy he has given me in past 3 years I have known about him. I have included a video from the Vlogbrothers on my blog. You should watch it and I assure you that watching one video most likely will not be enough. Much like Pringles once you pop you just can’t stop! This video is about his newest book TIFIOS and frequently asked questions. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Oh and HAPPY READING!!!
