John Green
The
next author that I will be talking about this time is the amazing John Green.
John Green is a young adult writer and my all-time favorite writer; he is also
one of my favorite people on the planet.
John has written four different novels: Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, and The Fault in Our Stars. His books are
funny, intelligent, sad, and wonderful all at the same time, and sometimes all
on the same page. The characters in all his books are relevant and you feel as
if they could be your friends. Out of all of his amazing books, it is hard to
pick my favorite, but I read The Fault in
Our Stars last so it is my current favorite. I have never before laughed or
cried so much in one book. TIFIOS as
it is known now on the internet is a bittersweet story of a young girl with
cancer, her amazing life, and the struggles she goes through. I know most
people do not think a book about cancer can be funny but if you took the time
to read TIFIOS then you would
understand. This book is a masterpiece. It came out in January, debuted on the
bestseller list at #1, and has been talked about a lot lately in the
media.
Another
reason that I love John Green so much is his internet work. He and his brother
Hank have a very successful YouTube channel that focuses on the increasing Awesome
and decreasing Worldsuck. John puts just as much wit and intelligence that are
in his books into his channel. He makes people feel good about themselves and
he knows not to talk down to anyone. I have had the immense pleasure to meet
and hear John and Hank speak on the TIFIOS
book tour in January and it was one of the highlights of my life. His books and
work on the internet have made me what I am today, and I absolutely cannot thank
him enough for the joy he has given me in past 3 years I have known about him.
I have included a video from the Vlogbrothers on my blog. You should watch it
and I assure you that watching one video most likely will not be enough. Much
like Pringles once you pop you just can’t stop! This video is about his newest
book TIFIOS and frequently asked questions. Hope you enjoy it as
much as I do. Oh and HAPPY READING!!!
